Final Report for 2018-2019

Alexander Scholarship Fund

Russell Jones, ASD-ASF

1. Specific goals during the term

I await information from IHQ to tell me how much has been contribute from the Area in 2018-2019 for ASF. The target was 6,000 CHF.

2. Measures to be taken to achieve the above mentioned goals

Fortunately IHQ’s promotional leaflet for ASF emphasis month should have been received by all Area members with email addresses in portalbuzz.
Otherwise promotion was minimal because of the lack of information and communication difficulties.

3. Achievements made

The year has taught me that I need to cc the AP and RD in my communications with RSD’s and to use translators where language could be a problem.

4. Challenges

Getting the details of who the RSD’s are for each Region was the first challenge.
Getting people to respond to emails is also a challenge – if only to say it has been received.
Establishing whether translation is needed when communicating with a person.

5. Additional Comments

Without information from the Regions as to the amount of ASF contributions received, and the YMCA staff who benefitted, it is very difficult to produced positive promotion stories for this important worthy program.
