2. Achievement of Specific Objectives during this reporting period

  1. AP Hsiao and Asia Pacific Area Leaders and APAY GS have visited Y's Men's Club in Shanghai and Nanjing, and established a link with National Committee of YMCA in Shanghai for future Y's Men development in China.
  2. Guangzhou YMCA has chartered a new Y's Men's Club of Yang Cheng, Guanzhou with 23 new charter members. This is the first new club chartered in China.

3. Activities undertaken during this reporting period

  1. RD attended the 85th SEA Regional Conference and 27th Asia Pacific Area Convention in Chiangmai, Thailand. This was the first time Y's Men's Club of Guanzhou attended the 85th SEA Regional Conference as observers.
  2. Clubs in the Region are actively doing their part in community services project, fund raising and working closely in collaboration with the local YMCAs.
  3. As a Regional Director, RD Alexander visited Clubs in Hong Kong and SMIT District in participanting their activities. During the reporting period, RD visited Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau and Guanzhou.
  4. RD attended the Joint Installation, Joint Meeging between YMI & APAY in Hong Kong in March 2018. Leaders exchanged views about the Y's Movement.(see photos attached)

4. Challenges

  1. The main challenge is SEA Region has 2 Districts, SMIT & Hong Kong District, covered 26 clubs. It covered a large geographical area, from Mongolia in the north to Singapore in the south, from Hong Kong in the east to Bangladesh in the west. Each club has its own culture & interest. Y's Men has not have enough public imaging to attract dyoung members.

5. Additional Comments

  1. Apart from yearly SEA Region conference, we shall encourage clubs within our Region to meet at least once a year for IBC activities and to promote fellowship

6. Motion to be considered by ACM

  1. To build a link for future development of Y's Men's Clubs in China. A new working group shall be formed in Asia Pacific Area for setting up the regular meeting and relationship with National Committee of YMCA in China for future development of Y's Men movement in China.
