Interim Report for 2018-2019

1. Specific Goals during the term

ASF – Maximize the contribution to ASF.
BF- Eposure of Internarional Clubs to members through BF Grants.
CE- To go with what Jesus said “Harvest is Plentiful; workers are few” (Matthew 3-27) our Spiritual programs will be focused on that so we will be able to attract more committed people to join us.
Endowment - Continue with the existing programs.
Extension- Planning to charter a minimum of 3 New clubs in Sri Lanka
Conservation members- Reducing the Semester fees and retain the existing senior Citizens who are members.
TOF- Continue the same as in the objective.
Youth empowerment- With my vision of membership growth I will get more youth involved and give responsibilities to them.
Y’s Menettes- Small Menettes groups will be developed for specially to do projects among woman and children in villagers.
Climate Change- To maximise the GO GREEN Concept and organise tree planting programs.
Informed all Clubs to increase their contribution under each category.

2. Measures to be taken to achieve the above mentioned goals

Write to Clubs to increase their contribution.
Continue to work with the Core Group consisting of RD, RDE,IPRD, and the two District Governors to visit the areas proposed for extension to discuss with the prospective members. Informed Clubs to increase their contribution.

Will be Chartering 03 Clubs before end of Dec. 2018.
Plans made for Tree Planting in a school in Kundasale during the rainy sason in Central District.

3. Achievements Made

03 Clubs will be Chartered before Dec. 2018 & 02 more clubs in next semester.
Beach Clean Project was launched by the new Youth Club of Mt. Lavinia on 08th July, 2018.
Tree Planting will take place in a school in Kundasale in Nov. 2018 with the rainy season in Central District.
One member visited Korea under BF Grant in Sept. 2018. Report submitted.
Recent circular re. BF Grants sent to all clubs in the Region.
Menettes Clubs are continuing with their communityn service projects.

4. Challenges

Due to increase in Semester dues as a result of fluctuation of our currency, (15% during the last year) it is difficult to retain our members most of whom are pensioners. This also affects our Extension Plan

5. Future Activities Planned

To form 02 more Youth Clubs in Bandarawela and Kandy and entrust them with responsibilities.
To promote Eco friendly Projects and organise tree planting programmes to maximise GO GREEN concept in our country.
Continue with the Programmes according to Regional Calendar.

6. Additional Comments

To make Y’s men movement a vibrant social service Christian organization in Sri Lanka.

7. Motions to be considered by MYM

To propose international to consider and revise semester fees of the members and charge nominal reduce fee from senior Citizens . Since Sri Lanka consist of only 8% Christians (1.6 Million) and it will attract the new members to join the Y’s Dom. In addition, our currency has fluctuated more than 30% for the last two years.
