Asia Development Fund

1. Preamble and Background
Asia Development Fund-ADF has been established and existent since for the purpose of supporting solidarity and development of Asia Area, as support the Area Convention and the Area Youth Convocation. It was originally set up under the ADFC-Asia Area Development and Fund Committee consisting of ( 9 ) members in two different categories ordinary members to cover all Regions and three (3) ex-officio members of the AP Troika as the Committee. Detailed of the Administration of the ADF shall be included as references to review ( Report from Area Trustees-ACM 2008)
The total ADF’s account with fund of ( ) was gracefully divided into half to share among the brotherlike gesture between the Korea Area and Asia Area for the purpose as mentioned. Since then, the fund was registered and deposited into the account in good care, in Hong Kong without any movement of the policy to utilize fund for the good causes of Y’sdom Development of Asia –Pacific Area.
2. Challenges
- ADF has been put into idle utilization without the Fund Committee to administrate since the separation of Korea and Asia Area. The available ADF fund should be reformatted with structure again of the purpose of the fund, establishing Fund Committee and Operating Guidelines.
- Commission of the Committee and Administration shall be established to perform the functions
3. Immediate Action
- To call for the Purpose of supporting the solidarity and development of the Asia-Pacific Area on the following venue and missions.
- Area Convention and Area Youth Convention
- Area Extension of the existing Regions/Districts and New extension to club within the Area
- Area Youth Training and Development for the future leadership
- Area Leadership Training related to the YMCA and Y’sdom
- Other opportunity related to other International Convention and IYC venue.
- To format the ADF Committee within this time of the ACM with the approval by the ACM to carry forward the pending matters and the decision of the fund to be utilized to serve the purpose.
4. Medium Range Plan
- Setting up the Commission of the Committee and Administration function as soon as possible to work on the Operating Guidelines.
- To consider of how to fund the additional resources to the existing ADF and its account with specific approach in order to fulfill the growth of the ADF to serve the purpose.
5. To be considered by ACM
- Review and approval of the Newly introduction of the Area Development Management Committee with the Operating Guideliens.
- Review and approval of the fund to be introduced for the purpose of the AYC’s support during the AYC’s in Sendai to be utilized of 5,000 USD.
