Constitution Review Task Force
The Constitution Review Task Force first met in late September and membership includes IPIP Jennifer Jones (Chair), PIP John Choa, AP David Lua, PAP Hirotushi Tanaka, APE Tsutomu Ohno, PAP Tung-ming Hsiao, PAP Rita Hetteriachichi and Translator Maeda. The task force was formed for a number of reasons. The first was to update the members of the Area. Others included stating the purposes and objectives of YMI, clarifying the membership and purpose of the Area Council, and times of meetings. Information about the Area Office needed fine tuning and more details regarding the Area Convention were required. Some financial guidelines were also to be considered.
The group has met monthly, with many drafts being reviewed. A set of ASP Guidelines has been created along with a set of ASP Financial Guidelines. There is still some fine tuning to do and the final draft will need approval from the Area Council before it can be sent on to the Constitution Review Committee for comments and recommendations.
I am very pleased with the commitment and contributions of all Task Force members, most of whom are becoming proficient users of the Zoom online meeting format and am looking forward to having the task completed in the near future.
