1. Share what you consider to be the achievements/highlights of the Region and the Area

1. February 4th-5th, 2023: Jointy organized by JWR and JER, the West and East Japan District cerebrated the 25th anniversary  and  the 100th anniversary of YMI in Kobe city, Hygo Pref. Out of 430 participants , 300 were fron JWR.

2. March 10th-11th, 2023: A cerebration event for 100th anniversary of YMI took place in Taipei city, Taiwan.  27 participants were from JWR.

3. June 3rd-4th, 2023: JER annual convention was held in Kofu city, Yamanashi Pref. with 300 participants include 10 members from JWR.

4. June 10th-11th. 2023: The 26th annual convention of JER was held in Kumamoto city, Kumamoto Pref. , Kyushu with 630 participants.

2. Membership and Financial Target & Achievement (as may be applicable)

1. Membership growth: Our goal was to achieve a net increase of 100 members.  July 1st 2022, the number of members was starting 1271.  At the May 1st, 96 new members joined, however, 52 members dropped, resulting 44 members increased.

2. New club establishment: 3 new clubs were establised, named Kyoto black club, Okinawa club and Okinawa Mikaji Club. However, 3 clubs will cease their activities up to the end of June,2023.

3. The decrease in the number of members and the depreciation of the yen strained the finances of the JWR.  We established a new fund and raisied the regional fees.

3. Outline specific objectives/actions you are proposing for 2023-24

1.We strengthened the partnership between Y's and YMCA and supported SDGs Youth Action 2022.

4. Indicate topics needing Area or International attention

1. We continued developement of Y's Future Planning Committee as Y's Strategy Committe.

2. When West and East Japan District cerebrated the 25th anniversary  and  the 100th anniversary of YMI in Kobe city, we held a forum for 4 active service groups, Lions, Rotary, Kiwanis and Y's men's Club to exchange views on the future of service and the issues those we face each other.

5. Additional Comments, if any

  1. Face-to-face regular meetings, community service activities, and exchanges with other clubs and districts have not been possible due to Corona infection spred, but I am grateful that they have been revived in the past year.
