1. Share what you consider to be the achievements/highlights of the Region and the Area

  1.February 4th-5th,2023: Jointly organized by JWR and JER,the West nad East Japan District clebrated the 25th anniversary of their and the 100th anniversary of YMI in Kobe city,Hyogo Pref. Out of     430attendees,130 were from JER.

 2.March 10th-11th,2023: A cerebration event for the 100th anniversary of YMI took place inTaipai city,Taiwan. 24particpants were from JER. 

 3.June 3rd-4th,2023:JER held its convention inKofu city,Yamanashi Pref. with 300 participants. This was the first in person convention in four years.

 4.June 10th-11th.2023:JER participated in the JWR convention held in Kumamoto city,Kyushu, with 19 participants.

 

2. Membership and Financial Target & Achievement (as may be applicable)

  1. Membership growth: The goal was to achieve a net increse of 60members starting 770 members at beginning of the year. As the end of May, 41new members joined, but 41 members left, resulting in no net change with a total of 770members.
  2. New club establishment: The goal was to establish three new clubs, but only one club caharter was succesful.
  3. Youth club establishment: The goal was to eatablish three youth clubs, but no clubs were established.
  4. Due to the depreciation of the yen, international membership fee and doneations sent abroad have decreased by approximately 10% when converted to Japanese yen, reuslting in increased expenses. 

3. Outline specific objectives/actions you are proposing for 2023-24

  1. Expand youth actions as mission partners with or without the presence YMCA in the area.
  2. Clearly demonstrate what Ys is aiming to achieve in society.
  3. Encourage each club to enchance thier club life and make it fulfilling. 

4. Indicate topics needing Area or International attention

 To ensure the future develpment of Ys, it is essential to understand and promote "the Strategy 2032".

5. Additional Comments, if any

  The aging of club members contunues, and there is no stop to decline in membership. Club dissolution and member resistretions are ongoing.

Countermeasures: It is urgent for everyone to have a sense of crisis and strengthen and promote extension activites.
