Report Date: 18 Jun 2023
Colin Lambie, ASD-Green Activities & Environment of Asia Pacific Area 2022-2023

1. Share what you consider to be the achievements/highlights of the Region and the Area

  1. I am not doing enough, but after discussion with Area Green Team members, you (RDs) can expect request from me regarding action by clubs on climate change & environment.

2. Membership and Financial Target & Achievement (as may be applicable)

  1. Hopefully there will be many achievements in 2023-2024 to report on.

3. Outline specific objectives/actions you are proposing for 2023-24

  1. As well as finding out what clubs are doing about climate change and caring for the environment, I expect funds will need to be raised to do much more than what is being done.

4. Indicate topics needing Area or International attention

  1. Y's Men International have established a way for individuals and clubs to donate to 'green activity' projects. I expect this to also be appropriate at Area level.

5. Additional Comments, if any

  1. YMCAs is Asia appear to be very concerned about climate change. It is also one of the YMCA World key issues. YMI action on climate change & the environment will strengthen the partnership between YMI & YMCA.
