1. Share what you consider to be the achievements/highlights of the Region and the Area

a.       There are regions actively submitting their community service project report. In spite of the covid situation of their regions, almost everyone is motivated and immediately responds to their reports to be submitted.  For 7 Regions of ASP, 84 community service projects were reported.

b.       Rescuing Stranded Cetaceans is the cs project of Taiwan Region. They funded 2 sets of rescue pool and filter equipment to Keelung Rescue Pool. One of the excursions in the last March 10-12, 2023, Centennial Celebrations.

c.       The Y’s Men’s Club of Canberra of Australia Region, yearly they are providing meals for the poor and homeless that cost them around 1000USD.

d.       The major cross-country relief activity of the Y’s Men’s Club of Colombo of Sri Lanka Region had a Food Relief to 173 Families spending approximately Rs 732,920. It was made possible due to the great initiative of Club Sec PAP Rita Hettiarachchi who secured notable donation from a group of overseas donors. Club members also helped for additional funding. This is in collaboration with YMCA of Sri Lanka who helped in logistics as well.

e.       Pro Bono Publico means volunteer activity of Japan East Region by making use of their knowledge and skills for social and public purposes.

f.        The outstanding activity of Japan West Region, their Clean Up Operation (Garbage Collection) during the Gion Matsuri Festival as one of the 3 major festivals in Japan that attracts 300,000 people. For the first time in three years at the corona virus pandemic situation. During the beautiful festival, garbage is carelessly thrown away around the area. The Y’s members, Y’s Menettes and Y’s Comets of JWR set a good example by not giving up collecting garbage frequently and repeatedly change the trash bags. Strangely enough after repeating this, the activity gathers lovely hearts of the people stop throwing trash away instead place it in proper place.

g.       In support of the 100th Years of YMI Centennial Celebration, Bangkok Clubs of Southeast Asia Region donated 5000Bhat by supporting the disability project run by the Christian care Foundation for children with disabilities. Friendly Clubs from Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are also joined the event via zoom.

h.       This is a 10-year-old project of Y’s men’s Club of RAHA Philippines of Philippine Region with their 4 Glocal members, who are leaders of The Hello Alson Japan- Dental Mission. They regularly visit the Philippines every September of the year for ocular inspection of the mission where to be held. The 4day project was done every February 7-10 and June 7-10 of the year. After the 3 years absence of the mission because of the pandemic situation, finally last June 7-10, 2023, the mission was made possible. Normally, 150 Japanese came here to conduct the mission with Y’s RAHA Phils. Since they just came back after 3 years, 38 Hello Alson Japan Team arrived (19-Japanese Dental Doctors and the rest are Japanese volunteers. June 7, 2023- from airport (arrival 1:30pm) we went straight to our Gift Giving project at Barangay 701 and total of 200 residents from the area benefitted amounting to 66,800pesos. June 8 & 9, 2023- Dental Mission, San Rafael Rizal and Tondo Manila. A total of 650 patients from those areas benefitted with dental services. The logistics, airfare, hotel, meds, materials, food, hygiene kit etc, everything that is needed that cost 1.5M for 2 days.

 

June 10, 2023- after checking out from their hotel, Gift Giving project at Barangay 704 and a total of 200 residents from the area benefited amounting to 66,800pesos.

3. Outline specific objectives/actions you are proposing for 2023-24

a.       Encourage active participation be it small or widely collaborative projects within their regions, from one region to another or with their BBC. This will encourage camaraderie, that will create peace and harmony among them and one way of promoting Y’s men.

b.       Boost morale and strengthen team cohesiveness and spirit through showcasing their vision and mission through their projects.

c.       Will continue to encourage and mention that posting their high and meaningful projects earlier is a great advantage for their Region to be included in our Area Bulletin because it’s one of the best tools in increasing membership because you have something to show them, the legitimacy and seriousness of your Clubs’ advocacy. With this you can also invite and activate inactive members as well.

d.       Push the following projects: Heal the World “Heal as One”, W4W environmental Cleaning, End Malaria, Green Activities, and raise awareness about important causes and timely issues such as bullying, inequality and discrimination that hopefully every region must have specially now almost everyone is vaccinated and the covid virus is now lessened.

e.       Must have complete project details. To have a clear view of your meaningful and impactful work of your Region/Clubs.

a. Because most members of this non-profit organization, Y's Men's Club joined genuinely serve, lead, share and uphold the duties and responsibilities of a leader in the community. It is essential that we do not steer away from the very reason why we are all here, continuosly shedding blood, sweat and tears to lend a helping hand and to bring hope and change people's lives for the better.

b. Let us continue to honor and respect the hard work and genuine service of each project every Y's men seeks to continue.
