1. Share what you consider to be the achievements/highlights of the Region and the Area

I. In the Asia-Pacific Area

1. NDERF (Natural Disaster Emergency Relief Fund)

  US $5,000 was contributed for assistance for damage caused by Typhoon Odette, which hit the Philippines at the end of 2021.

       Reports on the status of assistance have also been received.

2. Developments in the Philippine Region

  The PRIAC (Philippine District Interim Administration Committee) is running the Region.

       The Regional Convention was held on 16 February and the RDE was elected.

       The cooperation of each District and Club Presidents is being established. 

3. Assistance to Taiwan Region

      A grant of USD 5,000 from the Area Development Fund (ADF) was given to the host Region for the 29th Asia-Pacific Area Convention on 14 August 2021.

       4. Three centenary celebration projects.

  (i) Green Activity: donating and operating solar panels.

  (ii) SongFest: collection of songs from countries in the Area, to celebrate the YMI 100th anniversary.

  (ⅲ)Food our Heritage & Culture: to collect recipes from the rich diversity of the Area's cuisine.

5. New club charter and APEE

  A new club, the Malang Club, was chartered in Indonesia on 5 March 2022.

  Two Youth Clubs and two Adult Clubs were chartered in Nepal in June 2023.

And Ms. Keiko Tonegawa (Kawagoe Club) was elected as 2022-24 ICM/2023-2024 Area President. Congratulations!

3. Outline specific objectives/actions you are proposing for 2022-23

 (i) Introduce the good qualities of each Region to each other to improve the bottom-up of the ASP Area.

 (ii) Further strengthen the partnership with the YMCA and increase membership.

4. Indicate topics needing Area or International attention

(i) The IYC will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 4-9 September and 15 people from ASP are expected to attend.

(ii) The YMI centenary celebrations will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, 15-17 November. Many are invited to attend.

(iii) There have been changes to the BF policy at the international level.

      More details will be announced soon.
