The Policy and Guidelines as submitted are as follows:
Policy.
The NDERF is ‘Area Specific’ responding to natural disasters occurring within the Area known as Area Asia Pacific as defined within the International Constitution of Y’s Men International.
The Fund responds to Natural Disasters which result in the significant destruction of property and or the loss of life and recognized by a government authority as a Natural Disaster or Catastrophe.
Donations from the Fund be set at a maximum of US$5000 any one event.
Applications must be in writing either electronic or by paper copy and submitted by a Regional Director.
Applications must outline the details of the disaster and the amount requested and submitted with sufficient documentation to enable the committee to decide on the eligibility of the request together with an indication of the input from members.
Guidelines.
A committee comprising the Area President, Immediate Past Area President, Area Secretary, one Regional Director, a past Regional Director and other persons as required, be formed to consider, and authorize a donation.
The committee reserves the right to vary the amount to be allocated to any one disaster.
The committee reserves the right to refuse an application for relief following disasters which occur in the same country as a result of regular weather patterns.
Where appropriate a YMCA in good standing within APAY may be included as a partner in the process.
Contributions remain at US$2 per member, payable with the first semester dues.
