1. Expectations to make a difference during the term 2020-2021 in taking up the appoinment

To receive timely CS reports when requested from each RD/RSD-CS of the Area and share them with other regions through this report. The report may consist of an email to ASD-CS with the region, district or club activities.  Any social media update from club, district or region will not form part of the report unless confirmed and reported by RD/RSD-CS of the region to ASD-CS.

2. Additional Comments / Topics for Discussion

The responsibility of the RD/RSD-CS to send timely reports to ASD-CS must be taken seriously as this reflects the undertaking of performing our Y’s Motto “to acknowledge the duty that accompanies every right”.  From the presentation of CS Report, we can objectively see the whole picture of each region as RD interacts down to the club level.  To make our ASD-CS Report interesting, we only feature projects with (action) pictures. For those without pictures, RDs may include them during RD report to the Area.

Project: Recycling and Selling of Books

The Bendigo Y Service Club held its annual Book Fair over the Easter weekend. The books, magazines and other items in this fair were donated by the community for over a year through collection bins that were sorted and organized once a week. This project raised funds not only for the club and community, but also reduced the number of books and others going to the landfills. The image below on the left shows Book Fair Coordinator Peter (on left) and Club Treasurer Colin (on right) loading books for sale.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the number of people allowed inside the book fair was restricted per hour. Online bookings were used to control the crowd numbers.  The image below on the right shows the new layout for the Book Fair.
