FQCM Report for 2022-2023

Area Development Committee

1.  PREAMBLE

    The ADC has convened 8 meetings since its establishment in 2021, the last being 22 Aug 2022.  In that meeting the members reaffirmed the role of the ADC being a think tank of the Area, with focus on the Area’s development including fundraising for the ADF.  In addition to supporting the Area President in his work, members serve as mentors to their respective Regions.  

     To refresh the Area Council of the composition of the Committee, I list below its members:

2.  ACTION PLAN

Moving forward, the ADC, in consultation with the Area President, will direct its efforts to the following:

a)  Membership Development

Developing strategies for membership conservation and growth - reigniting the spirit of Y's Men and the passion for service in cooperation with the ASD-EMC and the Regional Directors;

b) Youth Engagement

The ADC will work with the AYDC (Area Youth Development Committee) in attracting, recruiting, and retaining a sustainable youth involvement leading to active membership.

c) Talent Management

The ADC will work with the AEOs, ASD-LTOD and RDs to develop a program and strategy for talent management as part of a process in succession planning.  ADC hopes to serve as a resource for APE in developing goals and strategies prior to the onset of a new term.

d) ADF Policies & Guidelines

The present ADF Policies and Guidelines will be updated and submitted for approval by the Area Council through the AP.

e) ADF Fundraising

ADC will work with the AEOs, RDs and Area leaders in developing fundraising ideas to boost the ADF.

3. OTHER COMMENTS

All these work enumerated above can only be achieved with the cooperation of all leaders in the Area and in particular, the AEOs, RDs, ASDs and the ADC members.  To all of you, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for your dedication and passion for the development of the Area.
