Green Activities & Environment

1. Reports on your progress toward your goals (activities from July to October)

  1. Behind in calling for Area Green Team meetings.
  2. Increased action on Green Activities & Environment, for example reducing greenhouse gases, planting trees, etc still a goal.
  3. Behind in publishing 'green action' newsletters

2. Reports on your plans (October to February 2023)

  1. Having established a 'revolving energy fund' in my local community, I hope that we can establish similar for the Area.
  2. I have been invited to YMCA Aust Intergenerational Forum which will hopefully lead to better relationship with YMCAs in Australia 
  3. I continue to be involved with APAY Green Team, along with other YMI Members from Asia Pacific Area.

3. Challenges you feel you are facing in carrying out the assignment (if any)

  1. News about impact of climate change should be making people more inclined to take action.
  2. People knowing what steps to take that are meaningful is a problem; it is something we can overcome with newsletters, etc.  

4. What can the Area help you with (if any)

Contributions to a carbon offset fund are appropriate way for YMI members to offset the emissions of their travel to conventions, etc.

  1. The Area's support & encourgement to make these contributions would be helpful.
