Leadership Training & Organizational Development

Report Date: 28 Oct 2021
Edward Ong, ASD-LTOD of Asia Pacific Area 2021-2022

1. Your expectations to make a difference during Jul.-Oct.?-Update on Progress

Basically the same as the last Report after reviewing the completed Workshops and Regional Training;  to ensure completion of the training of leaders.

Training should involve impartation of information, knowledge and skills.  It should encourage, inspire and motivate leaders to be more capable, effective and stronger to lead with vision, mission and purpose to achieve goals.  In the process, we develop more new and younger leaders who look to current leaders as role models.

ASD-LTOD will play a more co-ordinating and facilitating role, working with AP, RDs, RDEs and ASDs to roll out specific training programmes in a more effective way and to develop better leaders who are confident, team players and humble in service.

2. Step taken to-date to achieve Goals and Key Target 2021/2022

    1.  Enhance Training of RDs and prepare RDEs for the next Term who will work closely within the YMI Troika framework.

    2.  Training on all Portfolios, in collaboration with AP, RDs and ASDs through participative workshops.

3. Share 1 or 2 Key Activities that have made/will make a difference

     1.  Workshop style of training.  Guide and require ASDs to prepare to conduct and present key points for each portfolio.

     2.  Review and suggest improvements on how and what to prepare powerpoint slides; develop communication and presentation skills through practice.

4. Challenges

Lack of knowledge, skills, confidence and experience of leaders.  Commitment and diligence

5. Additional Comments, if any

Importance of follow-up, encouragement, communication at all levels.  Some language challenges.
