1. Specific Goals during the term

  1. Sharing of information on the regional, district, club and each member levels including the international and area levels
  2. To respond quickly and timely to natural disasters
  3. To address tight financial conditions
  4. To encourage discussion and promotion of Y’s-YMCA partnership
  5. To promote CS and environmental projects and activities
  6. Initiatives leading to EMC
  7. Promotion of human exchange
  8. Support the work of the Y’s Future Initiative Special Committee and share the results
  9. Promote effective use of the “Y’s Rebirth Campaign Special Fund”
  10. Y’s Menette’s Projects
  11. Y’s Christianity Issues

2. Achievements Made

Since the beginning of the term, efforts have been made to set goals (expected effects and due dates) and implement them.

    1. Held a RD Round-table Conference at each of the nine(9) districts. It was meaningful for the Japan West Region because the issues in the Districts and the Region were discussed with each other and shared the awareness of the solution for the future development of the Region. Some districts evaluated the effects and necessity and decided to try again, while others came up with new trials within the districts.
    2. Actively disclosed information on Japan East Region as well as the International and Area levels.
    3. Disseminated various information and information of clubs through the RD newsletter, the Regional Bulletin and Service Directors’ newsletter. We have requested information to be provided every time there is an opportunity and have emphasized the necessity of mutual communication.
  1. We widely called for fund-raising cooperation to support typhoon No. 19 (Hagibis) and No. 15 (Faxai) affected areas.
    1. Exploration and execution of cost reduction
    2. One day board meeting instead of 2 days
    3. Shorten the second day of the Club Presidents’ Leadership Training by half a day
    4. Reduced the registration fee for the Japan West Regional Conference by holding it for a single day plus making it a learning opportunity
    5. Revision of travel expenses regulations
    6. Reconsideration of the amounts of international contributions
      *All these efforts were made with the expectation of reducing the cost and time and labor burden, as well as the effect of encouraging more members to participate.
    1. YMCA questionnaire: Number of responses 100% achieved →Aggregate analysis and preparation for disclosure to members
    2. Efficient use of Y’s-YMCA Partnership Committee in each district and each area
    3. Preparation of a national list of leaders OGs and OBs (with the cooperation of YMCA)
    1. Learning and promotion of SDGs, which is the needs of the times and society
    2. Support and cooperation with the projects of the districts and clubs
    1. Active and effective holding of EMC symposium
    2. Promotion of "Rebirth of Y’s Men Campaign" of each place in its own way
    3. Charter one new club during this term
    1. Execution and utilization of “skill list” as a tool; It will be shared by the Japan East Region and YMCA
    2. Recommendation and practice of IBC and DBC
    1. Encourage discussion regarding the existence of the Y’s Menettes and the position of the Y’s Menettes’ Club on various occasions and a “meeting to talk about Y’s Menettes” to be set up by Men at each club.
    2. Encouragement of the Y’s Menettes’ projects conducted by each club
    3. Implementation of the Y’s Menettes’ questionnaire: Aiming for 100% collection
  2. Christianity Issues were discussed at Christianity Committee (January 26)

6. Additional Comments

Recommendation to International Council member : The role of Japan West Region which accounts for a large number both in membership and in the amount contributed to the international community, is important. I recommended Ym. Tsutomu Ohno (Kobe Port Club) to play the role of bringing our voice to the world.
