Interim Report for 2019-2020

Community Service

Paul Lim, ASD-CS

1. Specific Goals during the term

Being the Asia Pacific Area Service Director for many years, we always encourage each region to send out their CS reports to share with other regions, and if applicable, be adopted by other regions. At least, region CS report must be presented during the semi-annual area Asia Pacific meeting - the Area Midyear and Area Year End Meeting for other regions to appreciate or adopt.

2. Measures to be taken to achieve the above mentioned goals

Reminder e-mails sent to regional directors (RDs) twice before each area meeting.

3. Achievements Made

Although few regions complied, responsive rate is quite low.

4. Challenges

The response of RDs to report request must be prioritized, with the assistance of its region IPRD & PRDs.
Those in international or area elected positions must give advice to his/her own region to be the model region for others to follow.

5. Additional Comments

The ASP (Area Asia Pacific) consists of 7 regions namely: Japan East, Japan West, Taiwan, Philippines, Sri-Lanka, South East Asia & SOP (Australia)
The Community Service (CS) projects done by each region is usually based on their local community needs and/or assisting the needs of some urgent requests by communities due to calamities or natural disaster. The club needs to assess which projects should be prioritized.
