Leadership Training & Organizational Development

Edward K. W. Ong, ASD-LTOD

1. Specific Goals during the term

  1. To co-ordinate and assist with training programmes and modules at MYM and Regional Meetings.
  2. To plan., co-ordinate and lead RDE Training programme
  3. To review and develop training materials and modules for training at various levels with RSD-LTOD.
  4. To communicate with RDs & RDEs on their Objectives and Goals and advise on the required training to achieve thier goals with appropriate training content to be developed jointly with their RSDs.
  1. To follow up and review with RDs, RSD-LTOD on their needs and challenges to achieve their vision and goals.

2. Measures to be taken to achieve the above mentioned goals

Through periodical communication by emails and requests for reports from RDs and RSD-LTOD, by way of encouragement and assistance; by sharing reports of various Regions.

3. Achievements Made

  1. Co-ordinated Joint RDE Training with Korea Area for Dec 2018.
  2. Selected and assigned topics for various leaders to present and conduct training for RDEs of Asia Pacific Area.
  3. Tapped on the training programme of other Areas and adapted the modules and other materials from YMI HQ Website

4. Challenges

Getting responses, need to follow up with those who don't reply or without sufficient information.

5. Future Activities Planned

Consider providing an evaluation of Training, level of knowledge on Y movement and the need to improve and enlarge the educational needs to all levels, from time of joining, orientation and leadership at Club levels

6. Additional Comments

Good Training programme and materials need good budget for support.

7. Motions to be considered by MYM

To obtain approval for Training budget for Training of: (a) Club Leaders - Club funds (b) District Leaders - District funds (c ) Regional Leaders, including RSDs - Regional funds (d) Area Leaders, including ASDs - Area Funds. Additional Area funds to be set allocated, besides subsidies from Int'l resources and to provide also for extension work which are assessed to be strong potentials.
