1. Specific Goals during the term
Promote awareness
share with all regions the news update I receive which presents key facts to help us understand and manage our current global warming issues.
2. Measures to be taken to achieve the above mentioned goals
Spread the word among all Y’s Men the seriousness of the Climate Change we are already facing. Take immediate action in the clubs.
Save water!
Save the beaches and the ocean without throwing plastics, polythene in there.
Save the forest. Stop cutting trees. Stop using plastic, polythene.
Save energy.
3. Achievements Made
First memo to all regions was sent on 10/08/18.
Shared awareness on a monthly basis with all regions.
Japan East & West, Taiwan, Philippine regions responded with necessary action.
Taiwan region in cooperation with YMCA held secondhand goods Bazaar activity,
Donated Lunch boxes for elementary school students, to reduce use disposable tableware.
Sri Lanka region –Tree planting campaign. shared memo with all members.
4. Challenges
Saving resources, stop using polythene,
Earth Day activities, Energy reduction, Recycle, Less waste, Carbon emissions
5. Additional Comments
Current global climate moves rapidly into a human-caused destabilization period.
Y’sMen/YMCA has a huge responsibility to take immediate action on the challenges mentioned.
Think seriously. Help avoid global suffering due to negligence. Do “our” part” as Y’s men.
